Those of you frustrated with the show's closing and the fading chances for a Broadway recording, don't dismiss the London recording. Yes, it's different, but there are actually 17 songs from the Broadway production that you can hear on the London CD and I think it is still a great memento of the show. These songs from the Broadway show are on the CD:
Freak/Ode to Attention Seekers (two separate songs on London CD)
Stranger In This World
Safe In The Street
Genocide Peroxide
I’ll Have You All
Pretty Lies
Guttersnipe
Love Is A Question Mark
Do You Really Want to Hurt Me
Talk Amongst Yourselves
Everything Taboo
Petrified
I See Through You
Ich Bin Kunst
Out of Fashion
Il Adore
The following songs from Broadway are not found on the London recording:
Dress to Kill
Sexual Confusion
Church of the Poison Mind/Karma Chameleon
The Fame Game
Come on in From the Outside
Dress Circle
Broadway Star Joined: 6/11/03
I probably will get the London version, I would just like to have the cast I saw recorded. Selfish, huh?
I agree Fish, but the recordings are similar and it will evoke the Broadway cast as you listen to it. Not as good as a Broadway recording, but a good recording in any case.
Dress to Kill is a GREAT song.
I wish I could see the shw before it closes, but I can't........CRAP!
I have the london cd..and it is good..but I really love this cast. I just wish the cd comes out...
I just posted this on another thread about the closing of the show. Then saw this thread where it seemed more appropriate. Sorry if you read it already...
If Rosie (Bless her) was willing to take such a loss to try to find an audience for her "Baby", I am sure she will not mind spending a little more to have the ultimate "Baby Book." The show will be recorded, mark my words. If, as people have said, the score is the best thing about the show how can she, great lover of Broadway, not preserve it for, if no one else, her real babies. She is too dedicated to this project not to leave a mark. And let's not forget, it could still get multiple Tony Noms.
I do hope it's recorded.
I have a question regarding the show's chances at winning Best Score after closing. How many shows in recent years have been able to?

Rosie should have the show filmed. I bet she could pitch it to PBS. If she were smart, she could convince PBS to once again be cutting edge. Or she could get it shown on pay-per-view.

The songs you list as not being on CD (except for Karma) were not in London production..probably why not included.

These 4 songs were written during the NY rehearsal period, especially for Taboo on Broadway
