In the 90s, the Met Opera did an amazing CD series called Original Cast! with lots of hard-to-find cuts. It is now very out-of-print. I lost my the Late 40s set. If anyone has a copy to burn, I'd appreciate it.
I never bought the wholse series..Just the 1930's volume which had a lot are rare material from singles, but it should be fairly easy to reconstruct.

When this 2-cd set was released many of tehse shows ahd not been issued on CD. Now, most of them have. The only trcaks that might be hard to find are:
Pipe Dreaming (Around the World in Eighty Days)
Civilization (Angel in the Wings)
and As the Girls Go (As the Girls Go)
Does anyone know if any of the above 3 tracks are available elsewhere?
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Rick: Please let me know if you get a copy. That's the ONE doubleCD-set from the series I lost too (lent it to a frend years ago...we are no longer frends)!!! Thank you!!!

Now that you mention it, what you say about reconstruction is true. If only I were digitally astute and motivated. But thanks for the listing (although I do have the booklet, thankfully, as they did a good job on that too.) Above all, I'm glad to know about your show. I think that Civilization is on a Ben Bagley album, which may or may not be on CD. TulitaPepsi, I'll be in touch.
Aside from the 3 missing tracks I have everything else, so if it's a CD you need burned I can do that. If someone could supply MP3's of the 3 extra songs we'd be in business.

Stritchie does Civilization on the Ben Bagley "Make Mine Manhattan and other Great Revues Revisited" album. The readily available (amazon.com) MP3 I found is her version from "At Liberty."
Ah, Joey...my favorite role in college. I went to San Francisco State. You should have seen our Gypsy, starring Sharon McNight as Rose, the sadly departed Mary Cleery Haran as a Toreadorable (that she wasn't cast as Louise shows how much talent we had in our department), and myself as Tulsa. I got appendicitis on opening night (true story) and Dennis Bacigalupi went on instead. He played Bway as The Monster in O'Horgan's ill-fated Frankenstein. Misty water colored memories?
