re: Michael Arden

That was back in spring.

Isn't he doing the Bob Dylan musical thing early next year in San Diego? (And he's doing Standing Ovation IV)

re: Michael Arden

Yes, he's doing the Bob Dylan project, and no he doesn't have an official website. He needs one! He has a few fansites, though.

re: Michael Arden

Michael's doing the BC/EFA benefit "From Stage to Screen and Back Again" at Joe's Pub on October 16th.

That's next for him, as of right now.

re: Michael Arden

I heard that he's taking some vacation time after the Joe's gig before he heads off to San Diego. There was talk of the Bare cast finally finishing a full recording this fall (according to Damon a few months ago) but I'm pretty sure that never happened, as we probably would have heard about it here by now.

As far as I know, he doesn't have an official mailing or email address for fanmail. I once saw him included in a mass email that I received and thought about writing him, but I figured that might be a little weird (reminiscent of the "he got her number off an AIDS-walk list" episode of Seinfeld).

I agree, though, he does need an official website. Until then, I suppose we could resurrect the "Michael Arden is going to be HUGE!" thread...

re: Michael Arden

I *think* I heard him say they were doing some time in California during the late summer months, and then that there would be a break.

But it's been a while since I last saw him, so I might have made that up.

Either way, the show isn't supposed to come to New York until April, apparently, so we've got a while to wait. I'm so curious to see how it ends up being.

re: Michael Arden

What else do we know about this Bob Dylan musical? Has anybody else been announced for the cast?
#13

re: Michael Arden

The concept is something like three actor/singer/dancers, and an ensemble of eight(ish) dancers. I think when Michael's name was press released, there were other names listed, but I don't think they were people we really knew of. I'm not sure where the article is.

re: Michael Arden

Sounds interesting. I've never been a big Movin' Out fan, but I think I'll like this more, since I'm a Bob Dylan fan. And, of course, because of Mr. Arden! re: Michael Arden

re: Michael Arden

I can't wait to see Michael dance! I don't doubt that he can, but I just can't picture it!

re: Michael Arden

Yes, a person that I once worked with named Jenn Colella(Urban Cowboy fame) is also part of the cast. The show will make it's World Premeire at THE OLD GLOBE Theatre in San Diego, sometime this Winter for a Spring Broadway Bow!

Michael was also listed as one of the celebritys in that play the gameshow benefit.

re: Michael Arden

Doug Kreeger is also in 'The Times They Are A-Changin''; he's standing by for Michael Arden. You might've seen Doug recently if you caught 'Thrill Me,' 'Swimming Upstream' at the Fringe or 'Yank!' at the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

From what I understand, it's the ensemble that's doing most of the dancing, not the principals. Can't wait to see it!

re: Michael Arden

what benefit>?

re: Michael Arden

That's what my understanding was, as well -- but apparently Michael had pretty intense dance auditions, so I'm quite curious to see what it turns out to be. re: Michael Arden

Is he gay?

re: Michael Arden

For some reason my mind wants to automatically assume that he's not a dancer, just because I'm so used to him singing and acting. I am very curious to see how he actually moves. This would make the second show that had really tough dance auditions (Bare, apparently had them as well). I'm just happy to see he'll be on stage regularly, where he belongs, soon enough.

re: Michael Arden

Take it from me--the boy can move!!

I saw him out here in L.A. when he was doing "Pippin" and let me tell you, he can definitely hold his own. I know it is very hard to imagine sweet little baby-faced Michael cuttin' loose, but...he did it. And I clung to the armrests of my seat to keep from rushing the stage when he did it.

Just one more thing to make him even more attractive to all of us ardent Ardenites!
