This IS exciting. Michael Arden's compositions remind me of Jason Robert Brown's, in the way they evoke character. I'm sure it'll be a wonderful show.

I take it this means Michael will be playing John, the 17 year old? I don't think he's sung any of John's numbers in any of his shows, so that'll be interesting to hear for the first time.

Aw. I'm not going to be able to go. The JRB night was SO much fun! Do you ever go to something for one reason, and then you get so muuch more out of it? Oy, that sounded dorky, but that's what happened that night.

Anyway! As I said, i can't go, but the synopsis (Is that the word I'm looking for?) of the show sounds really interesting, actually! Craid! No running into the 'little stalker girl' this time! Are you going?

I caught some of the songs from this show at Arden's one man show and found them to be quite boring and depressing. I wanted to cut my wrist after listening to all of them especially since they all sounded the same.

Really? I didn't attend the concert at Makor, but I've heard a few numbers from Easter Rising and they sound delicious. They're definitely not musical comedy numbers. But I find (and forgive me here because I don't know much about musical genres) that Michael Arden is writing empathetic character studies in the same vein as Jason Robert Brown.
