I am not sure if this has been previously mentioned on this board, but Michael Ball, the West End star who has also appeared on Broadway in ASPECTS OF LOVE, will be singing the lead role at the New York City Opera in the season's presentation of the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, PATIENCE. If so, I would like to add that single tickets are now being sold for the 8 performances scheduled in September and early October. The performances are scheduled at the New York State Theatre at Lincoln Center.
https://www.nycopera.com/productions/productiondetail.aspx?id=31&src=l It is interesting to note that Michael's first major role in musical theatre was singing the role of Frederic in another Gilbert and Sullivan operetta PIRATES OF PENZANCE. It was where Cameron Mackintosh and Trevor Nunn discovered his talent and golden voice and cast him in the original production of LES MISERABLES in the role of Marius.
A great chance for New Yorkers to hear him sing live again
