Michael Berresse, a killer in a new movie coming out? To think of that sweet man as a killer is too much! I bet he will be great! I just wish I'd seen his Billy Flynn in Chicago.

Could be a "how do they catch him" plot, where you see him do it right from the beginning, you never know.

If it's a whodunit then yeah, it could spoil a surprise in the movie. So we'll have to give the PR people for the movie enough credit to think that's not the case...

Not necessarily.

In a thriller the identity of the killer is not always a secret. You don't always have that "aha" at the end. Take "In The Line of Fire", for example. The audience knew who the killer was. It was the chase that led to the drama and tension.

The protagonists might not know who the killer is but it not ouside the realm of possibility for the audience to know.

Yeah, the chase can be everything in a thriller. Like Silence of the Lambs.

Wow, maybe this thread could use a spoiler alert. It would be like if somebody put the real identity of nomdeplume in here. People might not want the ending ruined like that.

Berresse is shown firing a gun seconds into the trailer. Nomdeplume's post - and the article for that matter - are hardly spoilers, and if you know the BBC series that this is based on, you'll know there's so much more to it than a whodunnit.

Must have great fun for this nice guy with the killer smile to play such a bad guy. Can't wait to see it.
