I went to dinner at the Lombardy Hotel (on E. 56th btwn Park & Lex I believe) & afterwards went into Table XII where Michael Garin holds court Tues - Sat 7-12. I was completely taken with the relaxed, homey atmosphere. No cover or min.
Michael is a human jukebox; can play in any style, in any genre. From Jobim to Ray Charles. From Parlez Moi d'Amour to the latest Broadway hits. As the age range, or country of origin of the room changed, so did the music. I was bowled over by this performer and am happily reminded that he was on the creative team of & starred in the hit Off-Broadway show "Song of Singapore".
I must share that the food in the dining room was delicious & service very attentive. You can order fr the dining room menue in Table XII, as well.
Except for the fact that I'd like for Table XII to be successful, I was very tempted to keep the place all to myself, it's that wonderful. But I unselfishly share with all....
