Hello all,

I will be seeing "The Pillowman" on Tuesday night and then "Virginia Wolf" and "Glengarry Glen Ross" on Wednesday. I was wondering how likely it would be that a few of the stars of these shows won't be going on because they are mid-week performances. Has anybody been to one of these shows on one of these days and saw an understudy? I really don't want to miss seeing Jeff Goldblum, Billy Crudup, Kathleen Turner, Alan Alda, and Liev Schreiber. Thanks for the help.

-Buckly

They don't have particular days when the understudies go on. You will have a very good chance of seeing the main cast unless someone is sick (I believe Curry has been sick recently)
Especially since the shows have opened recently and the Tony's are coming up, most shows will want to have the main cast in case voters come back to catch the shows again.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

The newer a show is, the less likely a cast member will be out. Also, stars tend to drop from musicals more often than plays due to the additional demand that singing & dancing puts on them. Last, a star is more likely to take off a Weds. mat. than an evening. Also, what penguin said....

Good luck & enjoy your shows.

It is highly unlikely you will see anybody in the new shows miss a performance, as this is the week most Tony Voters will be seeing these shows. I imagine everyone will be on top of their game, and you will see some extraordinary theatre.
