Posted: 10/6/04 at 12:31amI am coming to NYC for a November weekend of shows and am looking for a hotel suggestion. Reasonably priced, clean, close to theater district. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Posted: 10/6/04 at 12:36amI live close enough where I don't stay in the city, but I have stayed at Milford Plaza and it was fine and right in the middle of the theater district.

Well here are some sites to check out:
NYCTOURIST.COM
www.hotels.com
I know all of the top hotels, not the budget ones.
I love the St Regis, The Peninsula, The Mandarin Oriental.
But check out Hotels.com you might get the Waldorf for 129 a night.

You might want to see if the Beekman has specials.
It is just East of the theater district and offer nice suites.

check out hotels.com, quikbooks.com, and websites like those
November is busy and prices are high
many of the hotels start requiring minimum of 2 or 3 night stays

I would suggest staying at the Milford... I've stayed there several times. Very cheap and very clean.. Not the Hyatt but you're in NYC!

I got that hotel through http://www.hotelconxions.com
for 150 night.
Very close to Times Square (about 200 yards from TKTS booth)
their website is http://www.edisonhotelnyc.com
It is not unreal but is a nice place for the money. Very clean and good staff. Not a lot of bells and whistles (eg, you have to call for a hair dryer but you can get one, same for iron, etc.)
I have also stayed at the Doubletree which is very nice and has the bells, is similarly located, but costs more than twice as much money per night.
For the savings, I would say use the Edison.
However, if you have a family, stay at Doubletree as you essentially get 2 bedrooms since the outer living area has a nice foldout couch. You can stay there and be in 1 room with your kids for safety. And the cost is close to 2 rooms at a place like the Edison. You only have one bathroom though but w kids it should not matter.
