Mini Hair Review 1/27/10

I saw Hair for the 1st time last night...before I review a little of the show, the cast:

Dionne Sasha Allen
Berger Will Swenson
Woof **Jay Armstrong Johnson**
Hud Darius Nichols
Claude Gavin Creel
Sheila Caissie Levy
Jeanie Kacie Shiek
Crissy Vanessa Ray

I went with a friend that has seen the show a bunch of times and was exited to see what all the excitment was about over Hair. The only previous exposure I had to Hair were a few songs (Aquarius, etc..), other than that I had no clue what to expect..

The show was phenomenal. Every cast member gave it their all,and looked like they were enjoying themselves. Gavin Creel was by far the standout though. He was simply amazing and I don't know how any other Claude could top his performance.

Caissie Levy. She is unbelievable! I wasn't expecting anything major from her but when she started to sing I was like WOW! She is also SO nice at the stage door.

Will Swenson. He was hilarious! Such a nice guy and great with everything.

Jay Armstrong Johnson as Woof. I thought he did a great job. He stemmed comfortable in the role. Also, such a nice guy.

Sasha Allen. The moment she started singing I was amazed. This girl has a voice!

Kacie Sheik and Vanessa Ray were both great as Jeanie and Crissy. They were really into it and made the show seem so fun.

Darius Nichols was also great as Hud. Also a nice guy.

The tribe was fantastic..I think a couple of them were out tonight so there were some swings on but I couldnt tell.

The show as a whole was just fun, and exciting! I have to see it again before most of them leave for London in March!

If Lea Michelle and Idina Menzel had a baby girl, she would look just like Jackie Burns. Glad you enjoyed the show!
