Miss Carol Channing at the SING HAPPY Benefit

I saw the sing hapy benefit as you all know by now, and was excited to see Miss Channing perform.

I have never had the honor of seeing her until now.

She came out and sang Razzle Dazzle to honor Kander and Ebb. But poor Channing was sick I think. She forgot the words and started making up choreography and they had to end the song early because she forgot a whole section of it. I hope she's well, I hope nothing is wrong.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh..

She does that all the time...it's part of her act!

I love it when she does her "Where am I /Who Am I Bit?"!

Did she do that as well? That ones a scream!

robactorguy, I am indeed saddened to hear your report of Ms. Channing's performance. I too hope she is well.

I am glad you started this post. How often does one get to use the name Channing several times in a single day, like I was able to do today?

lol, well i dunno, i have never seen her perform.

she came out and did the opening monologue for razzle dazzle and recited "you're working with a star, the biggest star!" and everyone went crazy.

then she started to sing and was so into it. then she got to "when you're in trouble go into your dance" she started, not to dance but rather flap and flail, and then she seemed to loose track of where she was in the song. the dancer boys tried to get her back on but she couldn't find it, she just stood there smiling. I don't think the audience really knew, but i know the lyrics very well, and again, i don't think they cared.

this was a benefit concert for kander and ebb, there were a few flubs like bill hutton (Original 80's Joseph, Gay 90's Musical) totally fell flat on his face during "The Cell Block Tango" but got right back up and girated like the rest of them. Updated On: 10/28/03 at 07:00 PM
