Personally I prefer Model Prisoner. With Civilian, Adam is definitely on the right track in terms of developing his sound. However, I prefer MP. It took some getting used to with it's almost folk rock (almost countryish at times) sound, but after a couple of spins it really grew on me. I listened to Civilian and just didn't get hooked (I should probably give it another listen).

I like how his sound has evolved but I felt like Civilian was over produced and over orchestrated, neither of which are *really* Adam's fault. The music was a little messier and not as tight as I had hoped for. I remember Civilian had more of a pop-rock feel which makes it feel a little more mainstream but more like a medium that Adam is comfortable in than he was with MP's sound.

I enjoy the simplicity of Model Prisoner and the uniqueness it has. MP is all over the place stylistically, but it's fun to see the different things he got to try. He took a bunch of risks and it paid off for the most part. However, Civilian has a nice, easy sound which could be a good intro into his music. MP is more experimental, so I guess it just depends on your tastes.

P.S. - Sleeping with Adam is always nice. Long live the sparkly jeans.
