I was there tonight with a friend who'd seen the orig. We both loved it.

I note that I'd only seen the movie & wasn't enamoured of it. Not having seen the orig. stage prod'n, I can't compare but can say that I felt the casting, direction, scenery & the orch. on the stage worked for me.

Molina was teary-eyed in the 2nd act & I also heard sniffles & sobs in the audience.

John Cariani (Motel) made a short & sweet farewell speech about Molina & Graff. I'd forgotten that they were leaving so soon & I'm awfully glad I got to see their last performances.

I wish I could have been there.

Thought they both did a wonderful job and I, for one, will miss them re: Molina's & Graff's Last night in Fiddler

Aww, thats so sweet that there were tears. Though I'm excited for Harvey to take over, I would have loved to have seen Alfred and Randy.

Is John Cariani staying with it for a little while longer? I'm seeing it Friday (with Andrea and Harvey!) and I want to make sure I see him! It's my first time seeing it!

Wow! I bet that performance was amazing! Razz- let us know how Harvey is! I'm sure a lot of us are excited to know how he'll be as Tevye! Have fun!

Cariani only mentioned Al's & Randy's departures tonight. I must admit that I'm curious to see Harvey's interpretation. Who's taking over for Graff? BTW Opel didn't go on tonight.

Opel wasn't in when I saw her last Sunday, too.

Andrea Martin (a.k.a. the crazy aunt in My Big Fat Greek Wedding) is taking over as Golde on Tuesday. She should be really good. I'm excited to get to see the tour later this month. Should be good (I hope...)

I didn't think the current tour was related in any way to David Leveaux's current production on Broadway. Am I wrong?

I saw the show last night as well. It was my first time seeing this production and I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend is a technical theatre major and loved the set design. Both Alfred and Randy were great, but I think it will be interesting to see how Harvey takes on the role. I wasn't a big fan of the lack of accents though, but I tried not to let it bother me too much. Overall I had a great time last night and now I keep running around talking about Motel and his "new sewing machine!" I loved him.

You are correct, at least as far as I know.
