Molly Ringwald

Has anyone seen her in Modern Orthodox? I love Sixteen Candles and Breakfast Club and I think she's great so I'm just wondering.

Breakfast Club--My #1 favorite movie of all time.

re: Molly Ringwald

Can she sing or was she like Natasha Richardson?

re: Molly Ringwald

I hope nothing like Natasha **shudders**

re: Molly Ringwald

Natasha Richardson acted the hell out of that role and was incredible.

re: Molly Ringwald

yeah she could sing...but i was bored with her, I want to say that Neil Patrick Harris was the Emcee when she was there, but I might be getting my dates confused...HE was AMAZING! But even Debbie Gibson was better than Molly.
"Hey Joey McIntyre, is there a balcony in Madison Square Garden? Joey knows his venues a little better than me. That's okay...I have a bigger part on broadway...:)" -Idina Menzel

heh I love that movie

re: Molly Ringwald

I liked her in Modern Orthodox. She role is probably the least well-written in the cast of four, so even though I liked her, she has a lot less to do and stands out less than the other actors....and it's worthy of note that the only unknown in the show kind of runs off with it.

Also keep in mind that those John Hughes movies are 2 decades ago and this is a very different role for her.

Anyway, I enjoyed her in the show.

re: Molly Ringwald

Did you get to meet her after the show? I hear she isn't big on the stage door.

re: Molly Ringwald

Sargar, you're not getting your dates confused...NPH and Ringwald worked together for at least a month or 2. And THANK YOU for saying you found her boring....she's (unfortunately) the Sally I saw the most out of what, 12, 13....and I wanted to rip my eardrums out every time she opened her mouth. She's the dullest by-the-book whiny actress I've ever seen. No fire in that one...Brooke Shields may not have had a good voice or made some odd acting choices, but at least she was charming and interesting.
Yeah, Ringwald's not big on meeting fans.

re: Molly Ringwald

She was awful in "Cabaret." She had a weak voice and NO sex appeal at all! I wasn't a big fan of Natasha's voice (let's face it, she can't sing) but her acting was better than Molly's. The best Sally was Joley Fisher! re: Molly Ringwald

And if you think about it, Sally Bowles wouldn't be headlining some small, unknown club in Germany if she could sing.

It was a brilliant concept that worked beautifully.

If Sally Bowles wouldn't be a good singer, then have an actress who is not nessarily a vocalist play the role.

It was wonderful. And Natasha Richardson was brilliant.

Priest is quite right. It made sense, and Natasha is one HELL of an actress.
