Mommie Dearest The Musical-info?

I have done a search and can't find anything related but I was watching Mommie Dearest this week and on the extra features the producer mentioned he was currently working on a musical.

Does anyone have any information/updates on this?

Oh lord.

Either another brilliant show like Gypsy

or another Carrie

I was thinking it would probably need to be more along the lines of a Xanadu.

It might work as a sort of tongue-in-cheek grand opera. Dunaway sounds like she's singing (to an orchestra in her head) during many key passages in the movie. Think of Mommie jumping octaves on "Noooooo........wire..........HANGEEEEEEERS!!!!!"
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

Considering Christina was a psycho looney bitch who sullied the name of her mother, I rather not see it made into a musical.

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember this being something that was debuted in Texas' Theatre of/Under the Stars a few years ago. The memory is hazy but it's there.

OK, now I'm thinking I'm confusing it with a musical version of Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?.

Anyone know?

Haven't heard of a Mommie Dearest musical, but if they cast Joan as a man in drag ala "Ruthless" I bet it would be great.

There is a musical of baby Jane, but it's awful and never went anywhere. They mat be reworking it though.
