Ok once again im doing a monologue from your a good man charlie brown and i need help on the characterization of charlie brown, most of the monologue is him at lunch talknig about the little read headed girl. Does anyone have any info or tips of what i could do to make the character more believeable (im in high school lol) thanks -RoBeRt
What does the character (you) want? What's your objective by talking about her? Put in a verb: for example, to convince, to persuade, to gain approval, etc.
Is the focus external (talking to someone) or internal (an inner monologue)?
What's the obstacle or conflict? Is it external (there's another guy she likes better) or internal (your self-doubt)?
Paraphrase all of Charlie's lines. Express his thoughts and feelings with words you would use. This technique will help you relate and make the experience honest. Then, after you've personalized, go back to the actual monologue but keep the connections, the discoveries.
