Well, I'm back... not really though. I'm just in Virginia, but I DO have use of a computer...
My first night in New York was just a little bit of a disaster...I was supposed to see RENT, but no, my train ran 4 hours late. So I got upset about that, but no worries... I've still got time to check in to the hotel, get something to eat, pick up some keychains...but no, the hotel that I've made reservations for... is horrible. Non-working air conditioning, barely enough room to turn around, and it reeked of smoke (which I am deathly allergic to). So...this small town ignorant girl decides to go out and find a new hotel... easy, right? Of course not! The closest hotel that I could find was out in Newark. So spent the night there, got a bus back to Manhattan in the morning, and checked into the new hotel (that a friend had found me online. yay!)
And now on to the shows...
Brooklyn (yeah, I actually wanted to see it)
Eh. For the most part, I enjoyed it. The screeching got to me, definitely, and the fact that everyone thought Eden was a goddess , (I fell in love with Karen Olivo, however), and the story was a little sub-par, but I didn't dislike it. It's just not something that's going to stick with me forever. I wouldn't see it again.
Avenue Q
Yaaay! After falling in love with Tartaglia on the cast recording, it took a little time for me to warm up to Barrett, but I ended up loving him. It probably would have been more enjoyable if I hadn't already known all the funny lines that most everyone else was hearing for the first time, but it was still greeeeeat. I was glowing afterwards.
Also...my first stage door experience! And definitely the best (haha, out of two...) I expected everyone to be wanting to leave and all, being cold etc etc, but everyone was soooooo nice! I commented to Barrett about how my friend and I always talk about how when we get our braces off, we'll have teeth just like his, and he laughed and said that mine looked like they were coming along nicely.
Wicked
blaaaaaah. VERY disappointed with it. Another one that I've been listening to the cast recording for months, and couldn't wait to see. I really didn't think it was necessary for the applause on Hilty and Shos's entrances. The fangirliness got to me, and quick. I loved David Ayers when I saw him in Fiddler, but his voice was just horrible on Dancing Through Life, and esspecially As Long as You're Mine. It was okay. I'd like to see it with a different cast... and a different audience.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Loved it! This was what I was looking forward to all week... my favorite actor, a great score that I'd been listening to non-stop since I got the CD on ebay... and it didn't let me down. Lithgow was out, and that was sad... but Norb was WONDERFUL! I was kind of disappointed that he was in such a rush after the show, but he's allowed to have a life outside of the theatre, right?
And this has been Over T. Moon reporting live from Herndon, Virginia. Good night, and good news.
How were Rue Mclanahan and Ben Vereen?...I've heard some very positive things about Vereen, but less than stellar reviews of Rue...
I saw Avenue Q on Wednesday ( along with DRS) and loved them both, Sad thatyou missed Lithgow, who was very funny....but at least you made it to Q before more of the original cast flocked away

Vereen was great.
I'm a big fan of Rue's, so I can't be too harsh... it wasn't bad, it wasn't amazing. It was good.
Did you see the matinee of Q? I was there Wednesday night...
Yeah I heard Rue was good. She was also in Millie back when Sutton and Christian where in it.
What does the sort of mean?
