Here is the previous thread on the initial news.
I might hire Smiley to take care of the poster who uses that unauthorized pic of me as his av.
He definitely sounds like he could handle that.
There's a bit of hypocrisy here. If the performers (like Wanda Richert) accepted $132 checks, and then said they were never contacted... they should NOT have accepted the checks. Cashing them is going to work against them in court. And if they got the check... didn't they get the permission request letter too?
(By the way, $132 for something like this sounds VERY realistic, for any of you out there who aren't receiving SAG or AFTRA residuals.)
Also... if Cohen says he contacted and paid 600 actors... who are the 50-70 in the suit? (more people like Wanda, or people that weren't contacted or paid at all?)
I'm relieved to know that Equity and AFTRA didn't approve a deal without the performers consent. It was mandatory that he contact each individual and get their approval to do this. It wouldn't exactly be a legal agreement anyway, if they hadn't said that.
I suspect foul play may be involved here.
Yeah I thought it was so odd that they were getting nothing...who cares that much.
