There were certainly no tan redheaded hairweaved divas in any early 60s Apollo Motorcity Revue on which the opening of Dreamgirls is based...
I guess thats where a lot of imagination comes in.

There were certainly "tan" girls, as you put it, back then. You must be caught up in Beyonce's public persona. This is a movie and the make-up, hair, and costume crew will take care of making her Deena.

Hmmmm, a lot of different stuff, but I can say that I'd like to see someone other than Fantasia as Effie.

Why is it timely? Did I miss something? Did they announce my name as Effie yet? I'm rumored to be the winner of the Effie Giveaway-the-Lead Contest! Not only do you win the role, you win a 20-pound ham to go with it.
