Usher's contract hasn't been signed yet. He was in negotiations but nothing has happened yet, which leads me to believe it's not gonna happen.

There were certainly no tan redheaded hairweaved divas in any early 60s Apollo Motorcity Revue on which the opening of Dreamgirls is based...

tan? what are you talking about? the costume designers are going to dress the film according to the era. and by the way, mary wilson used to wear blond wigs back in the day.tina turner always had red-brown hair.

Ezelle, What are you talking about? Gladys used to sport a weave back in the day...Mind you those pictures you posted are in black and white. There were certainly "tan" girls, as you put it, back then. You must be caught up in Beyonce's public persona. This is a movie and the make-up, hair, and costume crew will take care of making her Deena.

I heard from someone who has contact with Condon that the role has been cast and it's not Fantasia. The person also said that Beyonce's audition for Deena was terrific.

Hmmmm, a lot of different stuff, but I can say that I'd like to see someone other than Fantasia as Effie.

I want her to be big :) I know she doesn't have to be, but I want her to be :)

Tamyra Grey for EFfie, she is an amazingly talented performer, that lights up the screen. I'm not as convinced by Fantasia, I don't think she has that endearing quality.

Why is it timely? Did I miss something? Did they announce my name as Effie yet? I'm rumored to be the winner of the Effie Giveaway-the-Lead Contest! Not only do you win the role, you win a 20-pound ham to go with it.



Seriously, did I sleep through something? Other than everyone ruffling their feathers over speculation, I haven't heard anything new.
