What do you think about Ragtime in this respect? There are a ton of solos in that show but it's hardly been mentioned here so far.

Relatedly, as a sidebar, what about ideas for songs that SHOULD be sung to audition for Broadway? Please don't discount me yet I enjoyed the 2010 Broadway revival of Promises, Promises.  Interest piqued, I did a YouTube follow-up search & found a discussion of what songs male ensemble members sang at their auditions.  My favorite male ensemble member (the one who stood out most to me during The Tony Awards number) stated he sang Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" for his audition.  I found it interesting he sang a rock-n-roll number.  Is this (un)usual?
