re: Most powerful Sweeney?

I actually liked Hearn's acting choices. People thought he was over-the-top, but I thought it fit in with Sweeney accepting his fate as a full-fledged murderer instead of someone who wanted revenge. It could be seen as his way of dealing with it. I also thought he complimented Angela Lansbury's performance who was equally as crazy and zany as Hearn.

His larger than life interpretation was much better than Johnny Depp's boring scowl-infused performance. I haven't seen Cariou's performance, but I was disappointed in the OBCR. I felt both Angela and Len were sort of a let down on the recording which surprised me.
"[Gore] was widely perceived as arrogant. If you know something, you're not smart. You're a smarty-pants. It's annoying. People get annoyed with your knowledge. It goes back to high school, to not doing your homework ... 'There's something I should know, I don't know why I should know it but someone knows it and I don't. So I'm going to have to make fun of him now.'" -Sarah Vowell, The Partly-Cloudy Patriot

Brian Stokes Mitchell was great. He was so crazy and angry, but in a good way.
