They failed to mention Dreamworks' DREAMGIRLS, and ABC's upcoming ONCE UPON A MATTRESS for television.

As for the article's mention of Hugh Jackman:

Untitled Hugh Jackman
Disney has signed a deal with Hugh Jackman to star in three movie musicals, as well as produce with John Palermo, Craig Zadan, and Neil Meron. Disney wants at least one of these musicals to be a remake of a 'classic' musical, which has not been named.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are currently producing a big screen version of the musical 'Hairspray.' In recent years, they were also to partner in producing '1776,' 'Fiddler on the Roof,' 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame,' and 'The Wiz' ' all for television.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
