Movies to Musicals (Enough already!)

With all these up & coming movies turned to musicals, I was curious as to when they would open
Toxic Avenger: The musical
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I think Legally Blonde could be a really funny musical- although I see it more as off-B'way. With Cheno or Laura Bell Bundy as Elle Woods?

And I'm still waiting for a stage version of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical.

I'd wait and see how many of these get past the "we're talking about it" stage before I freaked out. Not much different than movie development.

Poltergeist: The Musical
with songs such as "Mommy, Mommy, where are you?!" or "Go Into the Light", "Don't Touch my Babies", and the showstopping number "This House is Clean",
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." Exactly, Plum. But, there are some smart, talented people behind LEGALLY BLONDE - who knows. And actually, I would like to see anyone BUT Kristin CHENOweth or Laura B.B. in the roles - they need to get away from these typical roles they take one. And I KNOW you're not just suggesting that they play a ditzy, blonde, "popular" girl because they're the only two blonde actresses you really know, and because they played Glinduh....right?

I somehow do not see Legally Blonde as a musical but I guess anything is possible. I mean what next? SHOWGIRLS:The Musical

With songs like "You're a Whore, Darling" - "Lap Dance" - "Down the Stairs (Break a Leg) -- "Make Those Nipples Hard" and the grand finale "Saved by the Bell" (oh wait....)

LOL Showgirls...

The Exorcist with the 11 O'Clock Belt number "You're Mother Sucks Cocks in Hell!" and the priest duet "The Power of Christ Compells You', reminiscent of the repetitive song "Jellicle Cats"
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." I think LEGALLY BLONDE could potentially be an amazing musical.

LOL Showgirls the Musical with the Act 1 Finale "Nomi's Chance to Shine" and the final number "Goin' Home: Nomi's Redemption"

Uh, I'd actually really pay to see that.

munk- I suggested LBB and KC more because of how they carry themselves physically, and vocally how they sound. They seem more "Elle Woods" to me than say, Kerry Butler.

I think LB could be a great musical. I'm thinking of courtroom numbers where members of the jury sing chorus and have dance solos.

Can I tell you all a secret? Promise not to tell? I was asked, as a writer, to contribute lyrics to a musical version of The Exorcist. Two years later, I still haven't turned them down - and I think the composer is working on it, lol. I am (and don't laugh: because it's turning out REEEAAAL good) working on a rock opera of the first Terminator movie :)

Kristin Chenoweth could NEVER pass for a UCLA Fashion Student/Harvard Law student. She kind of past that point 20 years ago.
