I just saw the Second National tour company of Movin' Out this afternoon. I thought they did a fabulous job with this unique dance/theatre production.
I was just a little confused during Good Night Saigon. I know this is Eddie's memory/nightmare, but I didn't understand the girl in the short white dress/nightshirt. Who or what was she supposed to represent?

Thanks for the answers......my original thoughts were similar to yours salutz.....and at times she seemed almost to be an angel.....and I like the idea that she represents all the things he can't have......
As far as the tour.......I saw it this afternoon in Eastern PA.....that makes me think it's touring the East Coast right now...but I couldn't find any more information about the tour online, except that a second National tour started in January.

this tour is sponsored by Troika entertainment and this is pretty much the only info online http://www.troika.com/aboutshows.html#movin
i have not seen this production of the show, but i have heard that its a little different from broadway, and that there are some original songs cut out and new ones put in

Actually, the score is just the same now on the tour as it was on the Broadway stage. For the run in Atlantic City, they were not allowed an intermission, and therefore they added Billy Joel's song "And So It Goes" to bridge Acts I and II. They have since cut that song and resumed an intermission.
As far as the cast, they are amazing!!! The band in particular, is spectacular!!! They are lead by Piano Man Matthew Friedman who alternates with Kyle Martin. And last week, Wade Preston from the OBC joined them to relieve Matthew for a vacation. The band was shrunk to 7 members for the sake of this tour, but they play with the richness of twice that number. And Matthew hits some notes in Shameless that make your hair stand up!!!
The dancers are beautiful, and they have come so far since the tour started last summer! Drew Heflin, this tour's original lead Eddie, is out with an injury, but the guys in the role are all amazing! Even former B'way and 1st Nat'l Eddie Brendan King's little bro is now taking on the role! I saw Drew this summer and he is great! Recently, I saw Andrew Pirozzi as Eddie, and I totally HEART HIM!!! He was so expressive, and he had the heart and flight that John Selya gave the character with even better spins! AMAZING!!! Amanda Kay as Brenda exudes Sexy. John Corsa is adorable as Tony. He adds such personality to the role. Karolina Blonski (Judy) has the most beautiful arms and extension, and she executes the point numbers brilliantly. And Eric Bourne's James is out of this world! He is smooth like butter!
Honestly, I was quite skeptical of this tour to begin with. I saw the B'way version too many times to admit to, and I never dreamed that anything could live up to those experiences. While it may lack the excitement of walking into a Broadway house, it is a great show that really should not be missed!
That's just my 2 cents...
