I was just wondering I'm not to fimilar with how this works. But who is it to decide when a show is recorded for video. I'm in love with the show Movin' Out and Aida and I can't get enough of it. I was just wondering when they make a recording of the show. Thanks
Never. They make copies for the Lincoln Center library but you need to be in the business or have connections. The great unwashed masses who support Broadway can not get near them. I wonder how long it will take for the powers that be to realize they have a goldmine re video recordings. Right now, I believe the reason videos are not made is that they would be prohibitively expensive. Everyone from the actors, unions, creative people etc have to make a buck on it. So "never." But then you explain that they do. Hmmm. When is "never" not never? Ever?

Why would people go to the theatre if they can just schlep down to the local video store and rent the latest hit? Plus, you lose some magic when it's not live.
