Caught the newest summer offering in NYC and it was pretty damn good. the production was the best ive seen in a while and didnt rely on the set as much as the past few productions (the billboards in Henry V, the boat/slide in Twelfth Night). The acting was great as usual, with Elizabeth Waterston really standing out. Dominic Chianese wasn't so hot. They could have gotten a "no-name" to play his role, Antonio. I heard someone behind me saying "Uncle Jun was bad" and I sadly agreed with them. The second act is a little long, but then again, it is Shakespeare. I don't want to give away the ending, but there is a sign that reads "pyrotechnics used in this production." No, they don't rival Macys, but they were good for such an enclosed environment. I'm looking forward to next year's production, which was revealed to be A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by George C. Wolfe, as his farewell production.
