Any thoughts where one can find music for shows when it takes a very long time to have Vocal Selections published? It's frustrating, especially for those of us who can sight read very well but who have terrible ears and have a hard time trying to create our own versions from recordings. Dave Malloy published his own online version of all of the songs of Great Comet (for a fee) and this was a godsend. (It also made me love the show even more.)
When Hamilton took a long time to produce their vocal selections, there were some sites that had versions made by people with good ears. That was helpful to tide me over until the Vocal Selections were released.
If anyone knows of any sites that have even bad versions of these songs, please PM me. I am dying to play Omar Sharif, Answer Me, Haled's Song, and several Spongebob songs, and even with a bad version, I can often figure things out. I don't understand why it takes so long to publish vocal selections. Is there a financial incentive to delay the publication?
