Musical Lyrics With a Politcal Annotation

In Shrek, during the song "Freak Flag", when talking to Pinocchio about being a puppet, one of the FairyTale Creatures says to him "But it's not a choice you made; it's just how you were hatched". This line is an obvious reference to their view on homosexuality, and it got me thinking about whether or not other shows have made other casual political annotations. Do you guys know of any?

I think you mean "connotation".
And back to the subject at hand, apparently Jeanine Tesori wrote that song hoping it would be a gay anthem.
