Hi there. I'm wondering if anyone has good suggestions for a song from a musical to be performed by a musical theatre class as part of a Remembrance Day (Veteran's Day) ceremony. Last year we did a choral arrangement of "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" from Les Mis which worked well. Probably from a musical that has some kind of connection to war, but possibly not necessarily if the lyrics translate. Not looking for something that either glorifies war or condemns it, but simply something that will pay respect to soldiers and/or civilians who have lost their lives. It can be an ensemble number or a solo...we can create a choral arrangement if necessary, and adjusting/skipping a few lyrics that don't fit is always an option. I'm considering "Make Them Hear You" from Ragtime, which is mostly good but might need some tweaking. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
