Musical based on Stevie Wonder's songs

Why doesn't someone do a musical or revue that features Stevie Wonder's music? His songs are so melodic and singable, that had he been born in a different era, he would have been considered one of the greats of the American Songbook (as if he's not anyway).
I could see him teaming up with a theater lyricist like Tim Rice and writing a musical.

PLEASE - no more shows patched together from old pop songs - we've already got an Elvis show coming next season!

Are you kidding me...based on Elvis' music.

No...no...will Broadway become the new Graceland????

Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Though I like Stevie Wonder's music quite a lot, and do see the theatricality of it, I think another "review" is just not what we need at this time.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Now, you're saying two different things. If he teamed up with Tim Rice and wrote a musical, that's one thing. A revue-style show consisting of his existing songs is quite another. Which are you suggesting?

Actually....Billy Porter directed a Stevie Wonder review in vegas called "Signed Sealed Delivered" that won great critical praise. It starred Chaka Khan (spelling?) and Michael McCelroy and tons of Broadway best !

Plum - I tend to agree with you (if I understand you properly) a new show written by him with a collaborator might catch my eye and entice me to see it - but If I want to see a night of just all his old stuff, I'd rather see it in cabaret form. I just really dislike "Reviewsicals" on Broadway.

One of the most heartbreaking songs ever written:

I never dreamed you'd leave in summer by Stevie Wonder

I never dreamed you'd leave in summer
I thought you would go then come back home
I thought the cold would leave by summer
But my quiet nights will be spent alone

You said there would be warm love in springtime
That is when you started to be cold
I never dreamed you leave in summer
But now I find myself all alone

You sad then you'd be the life in autumn
Said you'd be the one to see the way
Mmm Ohhh I never dreamed you'd leave in summer
But now I find my love has gone away
Why did'nt you stay---

Hey, did you see the work shop in CT? Because I did and It was a really fun show! The songs where placed nicely and the plot of the show was funny and very entertaining to watch! Do knock it till you've seen it. It was good and it's only gonna get better!

Grace: My love for you is like this scar (points to elbow) ulgy but permanent!
