Give the guy a break. I think it's evident that he can do other things besides this concept. I think it worked wonders in Sweeney and brought a lot of attention to the production. Distinctive Baritone why don't you think the concept worked? You can PM me or just put it on here. I'm curious to read why. My acting teacher also said he didn't like the concept.

Well of course there is an orchestra in The Cherry Orchard and that might work for the strange sound in the distance that is heard...but as three-quarters of John Doyle's output has nothing to do with actor-musician productions it may be unlikely.
