"Get off your virtual high horse, you holier-than-thou pansy."
I don't claim to be holy in the slightest, but your incessant trolling has peeved me since you first arrived. I also fail to see how my various comments qualify me as a "pansy."

Is there any chance we can steer this thread back on topic?
It was a lovely post from Ado and could really have opened the door for some heartfelt sharing.

I'm sorry, I am fueling the veering.
It really is a beautiful story, I wish I could experience that kind of revelation as right now I could really use one.

Ado Annie and Mr Matt-no matter where that moment in life resonates and changes/affects the person you can finally become, the fact that you recognised it's importance makes it even more significant.
And to that other person--blow it out yer ass !

That's beautiful, Ado Annie. While it was not necessarily my "ring of keys" moment, seeing Fun Home and talking to, specifically Beth Malone after the show definitely was a powerful experience for me.
I think my ring of keys moment was back in 2010 when country music singer Chely Wright came out and released both her book and her new cd including a song about her being in a relationship with a woman. I was fifteen and she was the first out lesbian that I felt I really could relate to. I read her book, and so much of what she wrote about regarding growing up and her own struggles at my age were practically identical to my own. I also think I felt such a connection with her specifically, because she was gay, but also very feminine, like myself, and at that time, I didn't really know anyone besides myself who was like that.
Thank you and everyone else for sharing your stories :)

Everyone, this is belated, but I just wanted to thank you all for your amazing words of support. I even got a tad emotional just reading them! It has indeed been a long journey, and I'm still going on it of course- but I have come far only because of the encouragement I receive from those miraculous people I've encountered.
