So this past weekend I saw Wicked for the first time. I have listened to the CD practically once a day since July.
I was really excited...but...
I wasn't impressed. I felt so disapointed...everyone told me it was really good...
Let me tell you first off...it wasn't funny. I thought it was meant to be pretty funny. The rest of the audience thought it was but there were about 2 things I even chuckled about. Also, the characters weren't exactly... 3 dimensional. Where was the motivation in this? lol
But the performances! They were really good! I think Idina had a cold because she was sniffling and coughing the whole time. But she still sounded pretty amazing. I was sincerly creeped out by Michelle Federer! Which I guess is good.
I was kind of disappointed at first because JLT was out...but Megan Hilty was probably my favorite part of the show! She was adorable!
All in all it was decent but not as great as I thought it would be I guess. Which broke my heart.... I so wanted to love it!
Maybe you were expecting too much. When I go to see a show I don't listen to the cd for a month before I see it, but maybe you just didn't like it. I know when I saw it, it was amazing.
That sometimes happens. That's the problem with having expectations about a particular show. I usually enjoy something better when I don't know much about the show or paid attention to the hype associated with it.
