I agree with both.

since they are using new orchestrations in playback, does this mean they've aleady went into a studio and recorded? or are they recording vocals live?

The tracks have already been recorded in San Francisco. Some of them *are* singing along to the tracks, rather than lip-synching, though.

I have two questions:
Does anyone have a good pic of Idina, Taye, or Rosario?
In the following picture, is the outfit Adam wearing the Roger costume, or is it just what he wore to set?

David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

I might be wrong, but I think that IS the costume

Taye hasn't been there, and that's Adam costume. *drools*

Thanks so much for the pictures.
I really love the one with Adam and Anthony looking at the playback monitor and smiling.

The ebay thing cracks me up!
I'm wondering why someone registered today just to post that link in multiple RENT threads. Could it be that someone is trying to draw attention to their own auction?

I want to see pictures of Tracie, too! Have you guys Google-imaged her? She looks WAY different than in her imdb.com profile.

Is it me or does adam look kind of strange?

It's you, darling. He looks phenomenal. Okay, not in that picture, but in general, yum.

I don't really follow movies that much, so is all this fan following DURING filming that common for high-profile films? I just think it seems unusual that there seem to be so many fannish paparazzi-type photos of a movie set. But then again, I am no cinephile...

Thanks for checking out the pix! I'm glad people are enjoying them.
Yes that's Adam's Roger costume. I'm pretty sure somewhere Anthony Rapp posted that they wanted Roger to look like a more realistic rock guy of that period. The hair has really grown on me!
As for other cast members I know Idina was around that day though not shooting that day. Not sure about anyone else though.

Lizzie, I don't think it's like this for every movie for a few reasons. One being - this is on location and really accessible. Two - it's well-known and well-loved in the city that it's shooting in.

Thanks. I've also never been to New York City, so I guess that was pretty telling. :)

I'm a born and raised New Yorker and have seen a ton of stuff being filmed. But I've never seen anything this accessible either. Maybe it's the lack of - no offense intended - movie stars? To us the cast is made up of superstars, but to the average person on the street they aren't recognizable, ya know? Maybe that's part of it? I'm sure if this was Rent starring Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears it would be a very different story. Plus everyone that showed up was very respectful, only took photos after being told it was okay, etc. It was a great day.

It's kind of true, though. When I was there, people would walk by and realize it was nobody famous, then get bored. *shrug*
I'm way more interested in these guys than I've ever been in movie stars. To each his own.

Awsome! Thanks for the pictures.
I'm really loving the costumes so far.

Anyone up there know WHEN on Friday they'll be finished? I work in Virginia until 3, so I won't even get up to New York til who knows when....but I wish I could make some of the filming (although I don't want them to run over at all...they need to stay right on schedule so it will all go smoothly). I'm going up for a play, but it would be so cool to see RENT being filmed to add to my trip!

I've added a couple more. I should have the pix of the actual shooting of "I'll Cover You" up tonight. :) Same link as before.
