And Anabella's accent is supposed to be hard to understand.

but so hard to understand that I felt I missed half the plot?

I did see the movie a long time ago, but I still had a hard time understanding it.

I don't know. It just wasn't as brilliant as I thought it would be.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel.

It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to, than I have ever known.

This comment probably belongs in another post, but, speaking of the Tony for Best Play, isn't it a welcome change that there are so many Tony-worthy plays this year? Even if the season stopped dead in its tracks this second, it's still a better lineup than most previous seasons that I can remember.

bjh, I have to agree with you...I LOVED the fact that they used all of those silly props! Dre, I think her accent being hard to understand was the whole point. So much so that you missed the plot? Maybe you should've asked someone...I don't know. I thought it was a silly night of theatre! (I enjoyed Is He Dead, but I think I enjoyed 39 Steps better...)

I'm watching the film version as we speak - courtest of archive.org...can't stop laughing. It's like the film lends itself to comedy. I suppose I should have watched it beforehand if I wanted to see it as a "serious" piece.
