And Anabella's accent is supposed to be hard to understand.
but so hard to understand that I felt I missed half the plot?
I did see the movie a long time ago, but I still had a hard time understanding it.
I don't know. It just wasn't as brilliant as I thought it would be.

Posted: 1/13/08 at 2:29pmThis comment probably belongs in another post, but, speaking of the Tony for Best Play, isn't it a welcome change that there are so many Tony-worthy plays this year? Even if the season stopped dead in its tracks this second, it's still a better lineup than most previous seasons that I can remember.

Posted: 1/13/08 at 2:39pmbjh, I have to agree with you...I LOVED the fact that they used all of those silly props! Dre, I think her accent being hard to understand was the whole point. So much so that you missed the plot? Maybe you should've asked someone...I don't know. I thought it was a silly night of theatre! (I enjoyed Is He Dead, but I think I enjoyed 39 Steps better...)

Posted: 1/13/08 at 3:05pmI'm watching the film version as we speak - courtest of archive.org...can't stop laughing. It's like the film lends itself to comedy. I suppose I should have watched it beforehand if I wanted to see it as a "serious" piece.
