RE: the screaming.
I don't know how long he can keep that up. Maybe it is not hard for his voice to do it, but it hurt me each time, I don't know how much stamina he has to do it. If he would calm it down, and do it fewer times, it would be so much more effective, because the sound he created was jarring but very funny at the same time, just overdone. He reminded me of Sam Kinison alot whenever he screamed, it was very similar sounding.

Strangely, I love Broadway . . . loved the film, but no way on any planet, any time, would I pay $400.00 bucks to see a show! I adore, pretty much worship and "mentally" stalk Tim Curry (which means, I am a lazy stalker -- I just have no energy to do anything but dream of someone); anyway, I digress! And I didn't see "Spamalot" one time on Broadway!
Ok, so I saw it in England [only once] . . . but a friend paid for it! *wink*
Thus, even if the show had all my all-time favorites from Tim Curry, Alan Rickman, Vincent D'Nofrio, Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth, Julia Murney and Kendra Kassebaum -- I still would not pay $400.00 for one show.
Maybe that's just me . . .!
So, if YF lasts and tickets are running more "normal" -- in the $120.00 range [I mean, I've paid nearly $200.00 for "Wicked"], I would see it if I have the time and the dollars.

But it is not at all hard to get a good seat at face value for this show. I saw it Wednesday night after finding a good tenth row ticket a few days earlier, and moved up to 2nd row center at the intermission just to see what it felt like in those "$450 seats"! Not only that but there was a guy in Times Square selling decent orchestra seats for below face, and I think it's only going to get easier....

I was was there last Thursday (1st preview), all excited, but couldn't bring myself to chiming in here, until now. Lets just say, in a word, disappointed.
Nothing much more than a rehash of the old Mell Brooks schtick. The lab scene set got one of the biggest hands of the show. I think this was the 1st time I ever saw the set get an applause.
Other than that, not worth the $120+ I paid. Get the movie on netflix.
