Coming to New York next month from Europe. Hoping to see Next to Normal while I'm there. Looking for cheap tickets. Does anyone know what the view from cheap Row H Mezz tickets from Telecharge is like? Would I be better off trying TKTS? If so what type of prices would I be looking at there and where are the seats usually? And what's the queue like? I know in London we barely have a queue at all. I'll be seeing it with 2 friends so lottery isn't an option. And if anyone knows of any other sites doing deals that would be a huge help. Thanks
The theater is very small and intimate which is great because it's a great view from anywhere. I haven't sat in Row H (maybe it's the last row), but I love the view from the Mezz in general. You'll find N2N at TKTS just about everyday, for mostly 40% or 50% off, I think, which puts tickets around $65 with the service charges (for half off the best seats). They don't always have the best seats there, but sometimes they do. Here's a discount code so you could save 40% online, buy your tickets in advance and choose your seats off of Telecharge. Go to BroadwayOffers.com and enter the code NNBX419. It will connect you to N2N on Telecharge and you'll be able to proceed from there. Tickets will be $59 for regularly priced $121.50 and $49 for regularly priced $69. There will be a service charge since it's Telecharge, but if you want to book in advance, it might be a good option for you. Not sure how much you're looking to spend, but I hope this helps! Enjoy the show and your trip to New York!
Thanks so much. That $121 reduced to $59 sounds like a good deal. I'll definitely consider it. And yes, H is the last row. If anyone can tell me the state of the queues at TKTS it would be a great help.
By the afternoon there is basically no queue at the booth. I think it's a bit extended because people will line up before it opens. I've never waited more than half an hour, but I've only been here since the beginning of the summer. I can't imagine you'd have trouble, especially if you wait until the afternoon. They give you much more room to queue than they do at the London booth, though, so it might be longer than you're used to.
I've always sat in the very back row (I think it is H) because of the prices (because we always happened to go right between valid coupon dates). But even that far back, the view is still amazing. The Booth is so small and intimate that no matter where you sit, you'll be able to see perfectly. The only exception would be some of the rows either in the very front of the orchestra or the very back of the orchestra where you wouldn't be able to see the very top level of the set.
And at the end of the very first song, there is some action on the floor downstage center. Everyone in the mezz always leans forward to see what's happening, causing each row behind to lean forward as well. I can imagine you'd miss that from the back of the mezz, but it's not a big deal, nor is it for very long.
