More musical theatre at NBC and on primetime television. Never a bad thing. Creators are Broadway's Pasek & Paul + Claudia Shear. Amazing

Sounds very interesting! Period dramas are already underrepresented on network television and the musical aspect is very intriguing. Pasek and Paul are one of the most versatile young composers, can't wait to hear what they whip up.

People said that about Viva Laughlin before it even shot a pilot.  And, well, we know how that turned out.

I love Pasek and Paul. They write great music. I also think Shear did a good job with the Tuck Everlasting adaptation. I'm excited about this

I wouldn't say their music is "great." For me they're a pretty middle of the road, generic writing duo. I've liked a few of their songs, but I really don't get why NBC keeps trying this musical TV series thing. Glee (well the first season or two) was the exception and I think it only worked because the characters weren't real people but were stereotypes.

Passek and Paul are OK, but the series is going to have to rely on its book more than any musical numbers.  It might simply be  production numbers on the NY stage at the time, as opposed to characters actually breaking out in song to move the plot along.

LOL obviously, I don't have any problem with people not agreeing with me. I like their song from Giant Peach, Middle of a Moment. I still wish NBC would stop trying.
