Adam Guettel has such a great voice.

I don't know. I read the book a few years ago when I first head Guettel was working on it (back when he was working with Alfred Uhry) and the book is fairly slight. I might have enjoyed it more with him reading it. I'm looking forward to the recording coming out, but these two tracks of Guettel himself singing it will tide me over for now. Also, I always like hearing him accompany himself, because you usually get to hear which instrument he composed on, and I think that reflects something of the artistic process he went through.
