Can anyone list the shows leaving and what will be replacing them shortly thereafter:

Gypsy
Aida
Fiddler
42nd Street
...

what is going in the Lincoln Center Theatre? Frogs?

Fiddler hasn't announced plans to leave any time soon.

42nd Street announced that it will close January 2, 2005.

Gypsy closed last weekend at the Shubert. Spamalot (the musical adaptation of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" to be directed by Mike Nichols) will begin an open ended run there in March 2005. During the summer and fall, the theatre will host a few special events and at least one limited engagement (one of those Tango musicals is coming in later this summer).

Aida closes at the Palace September 5th and will likely be replaced by a revival of "La Cage aux Folles" -- casting to be named soon.

"The Frogs" is scheduled to run at the Vivian Beaumont (at Lincoln Center) from June 22nd through October 10th -- if it's a big hit, I suppose an extension beyond that date is theoretically possible (though Nathan Lane has several tentative commitments -- Butley, Odd Couple, et al).

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

More new shows and their homes...
All Shook Up at the Marquis
Pillowman at the Music Box

Billy Crystal's people and Dame Edna's people are fighting each other right now for the Broadhurst

Pac. Overtures then Streetcar at Studio 54

Democracy at the Atkinson

And Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Imperial

And I do believe the Jerry Springer is eyeing the Minskoff.

No way! The Minskoff is way too big for Jerry Springer the Opera. They would be making a grave mistake putting it in there. Pillowman, yep, needs to be a small venue like the Music Box.

Yeah I heard something else was going in the Minskoff..it escapes me at the moment.

I knew about most of these - I was just trying to see if anymore were planned. - They are already planning for BFO's exit? So, am I wrong to assume Hugh will not have a permanent replacement?

BARE is only scheduled for an off Broadway run opening September 21. According to EVERYONE involved with the show that I spoke with and had a great time talking too, as well as press releases issued AFTER those discussions (so I safely assume the statements to be true), a Broadway run will be considered and evaluated depending upon response to the next run.... and according to "show sources", if it moves to Broadway, it will most likely do so just before Tony deadlines.

I know it was a Hebrew fort in ancient times that was invaded by the Romans, but I wasn't aware it was a play/musical....

Is the Wiz a definite?

Masada is currently aiming for Spring 2005.

The Wiz doesn't have even an approximate date (the book is being worked on), but the Dodgers are apparently trying to get it here "sometime in 2005."
Masada
