Posted: 10/24/09 at 3:25pmThis must be based on the excellent movie from the 1940's dealing with the menace of the coming of the Nazi's. I have no idea of how effective the stage play is, but the source is certainly good.

I wonder which film you're thinking of. Watch on the Rhine? The Mortal Storm? But NMF is a famous non-war Emlyn Williams play thriller which was revived on Broadway with Matthew Broderick about 10 years ago. (And filmed with Robert Montgomery in '37).
This is one time I might wish I still was registered at censorship-mad, takes-a-long-time-to-join allthatchat, which may be a more fruitful place to ask about obscure-ish drama productions in NYC.

Posted: 10/24/09 at 8:08pmTHTRBEAR: Sorry to have messed up on NIGHT MUST FALL. I could have sworn that it was as I described it. It may well have been WATCH ON THE RHINE. I love the anti-Nazi films that were made in the late 1930's and early 1940's. Do you also know of the WW2 film made in around 1950: DECISION BEFORE DAWN starring a young Oscar Werner? It is fascinating, and Werner is fabulous.
