bella - but will you let that stop you from seeing and, perhaps, liking the show?

"I can still seperate a performance from a personal life. They are two very different things."
redhot - I agree with you as well.

"I agree with nomdeplume. I wish people would just be honest with themselves and others instead of pretending to be PC so they can sleep at night.
YES! YES! YES! That is exactly it. Some people just try too hard to be so self righteous and sanctomonius, pius (sp) and holier-than-thou...

PLEASE! This isn't about a world that is too P.C. (which I agree, it is most of the time)....this is about an actress who spoke out of turn and rudely categorized an entire group of people.
Let's face it, if she had spoke so crassly about homosexuals, you all would be spitting in her face.
I never said that people shouldn't see the show or appreciate her performance because of what she said. I merely said that she was very, VERY rude.

something we should remember is that in the 50's MANY mental conditions were thought be "untreatable"...... This is 2005 and we know better! One interesting thing about the show is deciding how much of Clara's condition is from the injury and how much is from the Johnson's never letting Clara develop because of what teh doctors told them. What's so beautiful is that the show is really about Margaret's journey FAR MORE that Fabrizio's or Clara's..... Margaret sees that Clara DOES have more insight then she ever could have dreamed.
