Broadway Talks Scheduled to Resume After Break

Published: November 28, 2007
Negotiations are scheduled to resume Wednesday morning between the stagehands’ union and the league representing Broadway theater owners and producers after a one-day hiatus that was described by a union spokesman as a “rain delay.”

Get a life, find something to do with your time besides try to squelch another forum member, I NEVER have treated anyone here the way some of you go after me, day in, day out its getting old.

I doubt if you met me on the street you would run your big mouth.

lol, *I* should get a life? You're the one who posts every. single. news update as though it's some kind of grand breakthrough. Even the ones that have been out for days! I don't go after you "day in and day out," so stop whining. If you feel so consistently attacked or what-the-hell-ever, maybe you should consider WHY.

And if I met you on the street, I'd have no idea who you were. So your point is therefore moot.

Seeing as I was the only one who had commented thusfar, I'm not really sure how I was NOT supposed to assume you were bitching at me.

Well, billynj, I did appreciate your post and had not seen the article and keep posting.

I enjoy reading your comments.

I also like the new mop av.

And you wouldn't scare me if you met me on the street. I own a Swiffer.

billynj - sorry if I am on the list of people whom you consider to be bullies. I don't want this to be personal. You are of course entitled to your opinion and I am not trying to make you feel 'uncomfortable'. Unfortunately, your posts take a certain editorial tone which seems to be forced on people at every turn. Almost 40 posts on the strike subject and the vast majority of them pushing your opinion down people's throats. You have used conjecture, misinformation and outright name calling to denigrate Local One and its membership. This is not the spirit of these boards. Yes... free thought and opinions are what this is all about but your us-and-them posture and polarizing influence illicits unfavorable responses.

As for my reference to your "un-authorized" post of the Spotlight Newsletter... you are quite correct, it is available freely on the Local One website. I didn't take exception to your use of it. What I did not appreciate is that a.) you did not correctly identify the source of the link as required in the rules of this board and b.) you chose to USE this document (by selecting a quote which you felt would piss people off) to substantiate or justify your denigrating subject heading. I suspect that this is what led to it being deleted.

In closing, I'm sure that if you change your tone somewhat then people won't pick on you. I for one would have no problem with factual opinions being expressed by you and would welcome an exchange with you on the street. I don't hide behind this board. I stand by my convictions and my statements here.

If I met you on the street and you spoke to me the way you have spoken to me on this board, I would try to ignore you and move on (which I did at first). But if you kept on and on and on, getting ruder and more patronizing and annoying, I would not hesitate to put you in your place.

You deserve every bit of scorn that you have gotten for the way you have behaved in this community. It has nothing to do with whatever side you are on in this debate and everything to do with your tone, rudeness, and posting of gazillions of thread, most of which are pointless and contain offensive rhetoric.

I have had many civil, pleasant, and informative discussion with people who differ in opinion with me about this strike. If you had behaved differently, you might have been one more.

I can't WAIT to see what people fight about next after the strike is settled!

I don't know what's negative about that article. There's one issue left to settle. It's now down to the pricetag.

So a man that found the time to find a clean enough mop to put on his head so he could take an avatar picture is telling someone to get a life.........................
