NY Times: Gerard Butler as Phantom is a "breakout performance"

In today's NY Times, Karen Durbin reviews some breakout performances in upcoming films. She was quite impressed with Gerard Butler and his portrayal of the tormented Phantom in the upcoming ALW movie. Sounds like this will be quite a film. There's a picture, too, of The Phantom.

It's also now posted on IMDB as being 143 minutes long so it sounds like they are keeping a lot "intact."

Anyone hoping to do the Red Carpet vigil at the premiere on Sun 12/12 there in NYC?

Also, for any folks in Britain, this was posted on a couple of the websites for the Phantom of the Opera movie:

"...there will be a "preview of the POTO movie on GMTV on Tuesday Morning between 7:00 and 8:45am".
