"Bus down to Battery Park City, take a Brown Bag Lunch, the FREE Ferry to Staten Island at, or right before sunset, don't get off, come back to Manhattan and see the greatest site!"

You are not allowed to stay on the Staten Island Ferry when it gets to SI, so you'll have to get off and then take the next one back to Manhattan. While you are waiting you can go outside and take a walk along the esplanade which gives you great views of Manhattan. BTW, I would not do it after dark. It's a safe area during the day though.

Go on that monster speedboat around the tip of Manhattan. You can get it at south street seaport or near the Circle Line on 42nd St.

Go on The Ride (the original one). Loads of fun even for a native like me. My 19 year old loves it also.

Take them to see Fuerzabuerta they will love it....exhausting for older folks but the young adults go wild.
