NYC Trip Ideas: April 29 -May 1st#1

We are coming to NYC the last weekend in April. We already have tickets for Sister Act and The Addams Family (and if I had my way about it, there would be tickets for Catch Me If You Can too but...)!! Was wanting a few ideas of something different to do while we were there? We have pretty much done all of the touristy stuff...Statue of Liberty, Empire State, etc. Also was wanting a few ideas for some favorite restaurants in the Times Square/Theater District. Thanks in advance for all of the help!!!

These are the exact same days I will be taking my trip into the city. Here's what I'll be doing:

Friday - Anything Goes
Saturday - HT Succeed in Business/Book of Mormon
Sunday - BTW, Meet Vera Stark/Priscilla

I always have one breakfast at the Macy's in Herald Square. My Grandmother used to take me there as a child and it never fails to remind me of her. I also love the food in the basement.

I also always make a stop at Magnolia Bakery. I still love the simplicity of a good cupcake.

I'm going to try and "stage door" Tina Fey at SNL. I'm not counting on anything.....but it would be a blast if it works out and I'd love for her to sign my copy of "Bossypants."

My Grandmother was born/raised and died in Midtown so that's all I ever saw with her. I always try to take a trip into a neighbohood that I'm not so familliar with....this year will be Tribeca.

Places to eat: Yes, they're stereotypical but I go at least once to Junior's and once to Joe Allen's. I always see someone of note there at Joe Allen's, from John Stamos to Lauren Bacall. Quite a breath of people.

Some touristy places never get old for me...I still love visiting Grand Central Station (and you can get a decent lunch there AND they now have a Magnolia Bakery!!) I love walking around Times Square after all the shows have let out. My Grandmother would never allow us to go to Time's Square back in the day....so even now that it's been made "Family Friendly" I still enjoy walking around there.
