Can people just start throwing out names of WONDERFUL, TRUSTWORTHY, HELPFUL, REPUTABLE teachers in NYC?? Especially Female teachers..NOT COACHES, Teachers who charge in the range of $85-$110 per hour, ARE taking on new students... I don't want a list like Tania Travers, Donna Lynn, Vicki Clark..etc who arent taking on new people and charge into the sky. Any help would be INCREDIBLY appreciated. If you could also possibly post their contact info (or if you don't feel you should do it in an open forum thread PM me with it) I will love you forever.
Thanks so so so so much!!!!

Tania Travers is my teacher and everything you said "wanted" in a teacher! Wherever you heard 'she is not taking new students' would NOT be reliable or correct information. I would suggest you phone her yourself, or any of the others to make sure what you "heard" was accurate. And I am not sure it can be accurate unless you talk to the person, themself.
As for her prices . . . they are not neccessarily "sky high" and in fact, rather near your range there. Of course, you would discuss this with the teacher, again, directly.
I mean, why close doors that may be open for you just for the asking?

Stephen Purdy is great. Plus he also plays really well and has a like 300 scores.
I've been going to him for about a year and the hour charge is 80.
His website is www.manhattanvocalcoach.com
Good luck

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Virginia Sandifur, THE Virginia Sandifur is a vocal teacher?!?! Can I sign up for 'fake' lessons and just pay her $80 an hour to tell me stories about being in the original cast of Follies on the Bway?
(Not to mention Smith, Company, Oliver, I Love My Wife, Perfectly Frank...)
