I just wanted to post a comment or rant about the South Street Seaport... I was just there on Saturday (against my will mind you) and I saw the empty stage. It is pathetic any venue in the city goes dark at anytime in NYC. We have so many creative people dying to get their work out there, and here is an entire audience of people unserved. Saturday was a gorgeous day and there was a huge crowd. I don’t really understand the point of a non-working seaport; it feels like such a waste like the Manhattan mall.
I once saw a free concert at the Seaport with Bre Sharp (fantastic). I know they have a summer concert series, but it is only like once a week. Shouldn’t that stage be booked every single day?

Same thing, only substitute Delacorte Theater Central Park. Such a beautiful view of Belvedere Castle and we only get to see it during the Public's Shakespeare in the Park (and sometimes not even then when directors put huge sets in the space).
