Didn't see this posted:
James Nicola, artistic director of the New York Theater Workshop, has announced plans to begin an Encores-like series dedicated to the Off-Broadway musical.
The first two shows have been selected: Promenade (1969) and Iphigenia in Concert (1971). While it's devoted to the Off-Broadway musical, that doesn't mean that shows like Chorus Line or Rent would be excluded, the NY Times reports.
They hope to get big-name Broadway talent to participate. No dates are scheduled as of yet.

Posted: 2/14/08 at 10:09amSounds great to me. I've always loved the Promenade recording, although I never saw the show. I'd like to see them do Threepenny in the Blitzstein version. And Dames at Sea and Olympus on My Mind.
