Nancy and Tanya: The Opera?

Was just watching TV and they said Tufts University was going to premiere a new Opera, based on the Olympic fiasco.
Can you imagine????
It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

Saw this on the ticker this morning on CNN. Too funny!
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

re: Nancy and Tanya: The Opera?

I hope it's a real opera and is really silly. Modern opera takes itself entirely too seriously. I love a new comic opera, but they're few and far between (A Wedding by the wonderful William Bolcom at the Chicago Lyric is the only major recent one I can think of). Opera can be the most tragic of art forms, but it can also be one of the silliest (witness most of Rossini).
